We tend to prioritize the maintenance of our hair, our nails, and of course (I hope) our healthcare, scheduling regular appointments and checkups as needed. And this cadence may begin quite early in life – making it routine to know when to plan our visits. But we have more to learn when it comes to our preventative aging maintenance, since our needs change as we age.
When we are children, or even in our teen years, we don’t need to do much other than take good care of ourselves and our growing bodies do the rest. After the age of 25, things tend to start to go the other way, though we often don’t realize this until the age of 40. This is a critical zone, these 15 years. We are only more recently discovering how powerful preventative aging can be to help stave off some of the earliest signs of aging that, while natural, have an effect on our self-image, but more importantly, our overall trajectory for aging.
And while this natural cycle of generation to degeneration is the human experience, gratefully we have more options and information today than ever to help slow and even reverse this process to keep you looking younger, longer.
As early as our 20s, we have to assist our bodies in their scheduled maintenance, which begins to decline as our young cells start to age or wear out. At The Anushka Cosmedical Centre, we start this by implementing a good skincare routine, which helps with cellular turnover and suggest a good retinol. As we continue to advance, more and more help is needed to maintain, or possibly even improve the appearance of the skin and the structures below it. That’s when we lean into our non-invasive treatments, like Botox, dermal fillers, and state-of-the-art lasers, to do the work.
