Botox That Lasts: New Ways To Tighten Skin

Baby Botox: The Ultimate Guide

You might be familiar with regular Botox, but did you know that there are a whole bunch of different types under the Botox umbrella? One of those types is a new trend that people in the industry are calling baby Botox. But what exactly is baby Botox and what is there to know about it?

We’ve put together the ultimate guide for baby Botox so you can ensure you walk away with all of the information you need when it comes to deciding if it’s the right treatment for you.

What is Baby Botox?

You can think of baby Botox as a micro-Botox type of treatment. The goal of baby Botox is to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines while also adding volume to the face. This is similar to your run-of-the-mill Botox, it just uses less.

By using less Botox on the face, you end up getting a more young and smooth appearance rather than the super frozen or plastic look that can come with too much Botox.

How Does Baby Botox Work?

You might be wondering if the process for baby Botox is any different from your regular Botox treatment. The quick answer to this question is that it pretty much works the exact same!

The only real difference is that baby Botox tries to give you a more natural result. As the toxin is injected into your muscles it freezes them until it eventually wears off. As the muscles are unable to move, the look of wrinkles and fine lines are minimized. Baby Botox follows this same idea, just in smaller doses than your regular Botox.

Since less is used, it will have less of an effect on your face. The results will be less noticeable and your face is likely to feel a lot more flexible.

The Baby Botox Procedure

You should arrive at your baby Botox appointment fresh-faced, without makeup. Once you arrive you’ll be directed to a sterilized office where you’ll be given the injections.

From there, your practitioner will likely sterilize areas of the face where they plan to inject with a cotton swab. It’s common for them to use an anesthetic on the injection site as well so you don’t experience any pain.

Your injector will then inject the desired amount of Botox into the face which is relatively quick and usually only takes a few minutes. Then you’re all set – it’s that simple!

When to Get Baby Botox

Now, you might be wondering when it’s best to get baby Botox instead of regular Botox. Or if you’re even a good candidate for it.

Baby Botox is best for people who want to prevent signs of aging. This is common in younger people as Botox can help slow down the progression of lines. Younger patients are usually looking for it around the eyes, forehead, and eyebrows.

Baby Botox is also a great choice for those who want a more subtle look, rather than something on the dramatic side. Smaller amounts of Botox are used which will help to achieve this look.

The ideal candidate for baby Botox is someone on the younger side who has minimal wrinkles and lines as the Botox will have a more modest effect. However, when done strategically, baby Botox can work for those with more severe wrinkles and lines as well.

What Areas Can Be Injected?

We’ve mentioned this a few times already, but baby Botox is great for areas where fine lines and wrinkles appear. You can use it in the same areas that you would normally use regular Botox.

That includes the crow’s feet, forehead, neck, jaw area, frown lines between the brows, and the area around the lip.

Benefits of Baby Botox

We’ve talked a little bit about why you might get baby Botox, but here are some of the direct benefits treatment can provide!

  • Fewer side effects than standard Botox
  • Prevention of wrinkles
  • Release of jaw tension
  • A more natural appearance
  • You can better retain facial movement

As Botox is spread across the face in smaller amounts, it’s able to provide the benefits listed above.

How to Prepare for Your Baby Botox Appointment

Before you head to your baby Botox appointment, it’s important that you prepare yourself on what to expect. You should be prepared to discuss your unique concerns with your injector so they can ensure you reach your goals.

It can also be a good idea to talk to your doctor before you go to your appointment. They can tell you whether or not it’s safe for you as an individual.

Be sure to research your injector to make sure they’re the right one for the job. And come make-up free to your appointment. You’ll be all ready to go!

Baby Botox vs. Botox

To help you decide if you should get baby Botox or just regular Botox, let’s compare the two!

When comparing costs between the two, baby Botox is going to ultimately cost less as less Botox is being used. Baby Botox is also more subtle which means it’s going to be less maintenance long term.

Although it might be less expensive than regular Botox, it also isn’t going to last as long which is something to consider! It’s also a newer treatment, with less research than what has gone into regular Botox. While this isn’t necessarily something to be concerned about, it’s good knowledge to have before making your decision.

Potential Side Effects of Baby Botox

When looking at the possible side effects of baby Botox, you’ll quickly notice they’re similar to the potential side effects associated with regular Botox. These include bruising, risk of asymmetrical results, headaches, small bumps on the skin, and more.

The good news is that since you’ll be receiving such a low dosage of Botox, any side effects are a lot less likely to occur. If you do happen to experience any side effects, it’s common for them to go away within 24 hours after your appointment.

How Much Does Baby Botox Cost?

Of course, the cost of baby Botox will depend on where you go, but the general costs you can expect include:

  • Crow’s feet: $200+
  • Neck: $200+
  • Around the lips: $100+
  • Forehead wrinkles: $200+
  • Frown lines in between the eyebrows: $200+

Like we said earlier, less Botox being used generally means less when it comes to cost. Depending on the training of the injector you choose however, you might end up spending a similar amount. Someone who is more experienced will always be more expensive.

It really just depends on your budget and the level of expertise you’re interested in.

How Long Does Baby Botox Last?

You can usually expect your baby Botox to last for around 6-8 weeks. Although this will depend on where it is injected into the face.

If you are to get baby Botox in higher movement areas like the mouth and forehead, you’ll generally see results for a lot less time. It doesn’t usually last as long as regular Botox which has a lifespan of about 4 months.

Is Baby Botox Safe?

While all aesthetic procedures come with their own risks, baby Botox is generally safe when done by a trained injector. With such few potential side effects and such great results, we would say that baby Botox is worth the appointment.

If you have any worries, then it’s a good idea to chat with your doctor to get peace of mind. It’s always better to be safe rather than sorry!

Aftercare

Once your baby Botox appointment is complete, how do you take care of it?

Your injector will provide you with a list of instructions on how to best care for your baby Botox. However, it’s likely that they will tell you to avoid massaging or rubbing the area as this could result in the Botox moving around in your face. It can also cause infection.

They will also likely tell you to avoid laying down for 4 hours following your appointment to ensure the toxin doesn’t move around. Exercise should also be avoided so you don’t cause any swelling or inflammation.

If you are to experience any discomfort after your appointment, you can apply ice to the area for 5 minutes on and 5 minutes off.
